Crypto Tanks: Your new play-to-earn obsession
Are you a fan of games where you can buy your way into higher levels and speed run your progress? You don’t care if the gaming company owns all your hard-earned gaming work? Then this game isn’t for you. Crypto tanks is a play-to-earn game where players control their in-game assets (NFTs) and earn rewards for their advancement in the game. The team drew inspiration from the 80’s classic Battle City and gave it a 2021 look with new tanks, maps, game modes to keep you entertained, missions, and of course, following the play-to-earn wave, the NFT mechanics. What hasn’t changed is the nostalgic 8-bit design of the game, so you can either relive it or discover it for the first time while also earning from it.
The core mechanics are similar to Battle City. A player chooses his CryptoTank and faces enemies in the Battle Area. But this isn’t just a revival, as many new features will make this game much more sophisticated. To start, besides the DeFi aspect that’s obvious, every Tank NFT will have its modification of armor, weapons, speed, and complete customization. These aren’t cosmetic features, as varying stats will lead to different gameplay styles for each player. Later in the game, we will launch more exciting features to enrich your gameplay.
Where do I start?
First, you need to download the App after creating a simple account on the website. No need to worry about whether you can play it in your setup as CryptoTanks will be available for Android, Mac OS, and Windows. Completely free-to-play, all you have to do is buy a Crypto tank and start your own adventure. If you are not too sure about it, you can always rent one and check out the game before committing to it. You can find Crypto tanks in the Shop or the p2p marketplace. It is perfect for playing solo or with your friends as they are also a Team vs. Team game mode. For solo gameplay, you are rewarded upon being the last one to survive, and for Team vs. Team, you share the rewards upon eliminating the other Team (Two teams involved, no third parties). Not only that, but there are three different battle types based on their rewards.
Rating Battles: You can gain experience points (No risk, decent rewards).
Token Battles: You can earn $TANK tokens (No risk, decent rewards).
Money Battle: You share a prize pool upon winning (Decent risk, High reward).
You will encounter only one token and that is $TANK. $TANK token can be found in DEX/CEX exchanges and added to liquidity pools as it is an ERC-20 token. You can stake your TANK tokens and earn either more TANK tokens or LP tokens earned from the liquidity you add to the TANK/ETH pool on DEXs. Once you get your $TANK tokens, you can use them in the Shop to buy more Cryptotanks and expand your collection.
What makes my Crypto Tank special?
Your Cryptotank will differ from others as it will possess unique characteristics. Each Tank has its name, rarity, country, level, and battle statistics like Chassis (Speed), Gun (Firepower), Armor (Protection). So, you can choose which country you represent. Currently, there are four, Russia, the USA, China, Germany, and the team will look into expanding these options. You can upgrade your Tank’s level with the experience points you gain from playing. Finally, you may select a tank that suits your own gameplay style. Do you prefer to maneuver? Choose a tank with higher Chassis. Do you prefer to be a Tank? (Pun intended!) Then up your Armor. Of course, you can acquire a balanced option or master all the gameplay styles by expanding your collection! Really important is the rarity of your Tank. As you can imagine, higher rarity means better stats. There are three rarities Common, Rare, and Legendary. Not only are your stats better, but you also have a different color, Common is green, Rare is gold, and Legendary is Black. So not only do you have a statistical advantage (you can say physical), but also a psychological one, as you will inspire fear into the hearts of your enemies! Tanks will also have generations. For example, the first generation will total 5000 Common, 2000 Rare, 500 Legendary Tank NFTs. Those Tanks will be superior to the Tanks of future generations. So, hop on early, get rewarded for it in the future, and flex your OG Tanks!
Is it a high-skill game?
The concept is straightforward, you enter the Arena, eliminate your enemies, claim your rewards. Sounds easy? Well, it’s not! It doesn’t require insane mechanic skills, but it does need good planning, quick reactions, and fast processing skills as you will have to adjust multiple times according to the enemy movements. Of course, your playstyle will determine how much you will need to adjust. If you play aggressively, you most likely set the tempo and react less than when being in a defensive position and being hunted. What about planning, though? There are several Maps already created. Each of them is designed for a specific game style: a defense game, a hide-and-seek game, a game on “islands,” and an open game. Each one will include a particular pattern of obstacles and landscape. In order to achieve victory, you will have to master different Maps and game styles to increase your chances significantly. Leaving it on luck is not the optimal option!
Tanks and their strengths are vital to know, but so are the types of obstacles and how you can maneuver around them to your best advantage. There are six types of obstacles, passable, impassable, destructible, indestructible, temporarily non-destructible, and projectiles (which means that only projectiles can pass through this field). Decipher the landscape and lead your enemies into traps or avoid the ones they set for you. Was this all too much? Fear not, as the game is beginner-friendly, and you will have plenty of time to exercise with no risk in the Rating and Token battles before you polish your skills and enter Money Battles!
What about Earn?
Well, play and earn $TANK tokens which you can, of course, sell. If not, stake your $TANK tokens and earn more $TANK. Enough $TANK? Expand your collection of Cryptotanks. You can either upgrade your Cryptotank by combining the experience you gain from playing and $TANK tokens. Then sell it in the marketplace for profit, or if you have some spare ones, rent them to other players and keep earning! To recap, earn $TANK, stake and earn $TANK, rent, upgrade, and sell. You can choose one of the four ways to earn or all of them! It’s essential to understand the types of battles and their rewards. You can perform all Token related actions through your “Garage,” so you will never have to leave the game.
A bit more on renting
CryptoTanks implemented a safe protocol for renting your tanks. Your tanks will always belong to you, and no one can steal them — no need to worry about that. You can withdraw your tanks at any time. When renting a tank, you can set how much percentage you’ll get from the user’s profit. We encourage you to be fair so that your Tank is more appealing to renters and isn’t sitting idle. Depending on the percentage you installed after each game, $TANK will be automatically credited to your balance. Until you play, you can configure automatic delivery for renting your tanks. The experience gained from playing remains in your Tanks!

The founding team has had experience in the crypto space since 2016, and they chose CryptoTanks as their next project as they are personally invested in the idea of this game. Cryptotanks have an extensive roadmap ahead and a team willing and capable to see it through. Map NFTs are already on the way, and more are scheduled for the future, like missions and player bases. Missions refer to a reward in the middle of the Map that will contain $TANKS, or upgrades that a player can claim even if they lose the overall game.
Player bases will be protected boxes that each player will have, and if it gets captured, the player loses.
